Yesterday I witnessed the baptism of one of my amazing Japanese friends. He has been coming to the Japanese church since before we started coming, but he had never acknowledged Jesus as his Saviour. Just a few weeks ago, while joining the church, our pastor led him to Jesus' side.
It was a great day! We had a Japanese curry lunch and cake for dessert.
To celebrate, me and Andrea bought him presents. He loves guitar so I bought him a necklace with a turquoise pick that says "Pick Jesus" and has a verse on the back. He really liked it. Andrea presented her gift (which was a ring that said "He died 4, me I live 4 Him" in a white ring box... it was pretty funny to hear the oldest member, Lilly, ask if they were getting married! Priceless.
Next month he's going back to Japan. I'm hoping the new jewelry will help him to evangelize to his other friends their. I'll miss him a lot.... but he'll be back, I hope.
And if not, we will meet again one day.
